Cobram Roar FC Life Membership

Principle

Life Membership is generally conferred on a person who has rendered distinguished or special service to an organisation. The most frequently used criteria for life membership are length of service. Persons may hold roles of limited tenure and yet perform outstanding meritorious service during their term of membership. Under these circumstances other criteria should be used to determine whether the person is deserving of nomination for Life Membership. Such criteria will relate to the quality of the service performed by the person under consideration.

Criteria

For Life Membership The following criteria may be used to determine the suitability of a person for nomination for Life Membership of Cobram Roar FC (CRFC). While it is not necessary for all the criteria to be satisfied, some at least should be considered.

The person under consideration should have continuous outstanding meritorious service and demonstrated some or all the following:

  • Significant contribution in an official role such as Playing, Coaching, Support crew and/or Committee.

  • Outstanding leadership qualities in all or many areas of the sport.

  • Holding, in the opinion of the Committee is good standing within CRFC and the wider community.

  • Meritorious service at State/National level.

  • Minimum Ten (10) years of service to the club. This service need not be continual.

  • Such other criteria as the Committee deems fit, which may include such things as:

    • Enthusing others to implement appropriate ideas.

    • Innovative practice: such as reviewing and modifying existing processes and/or introducing new ideas which significantly improve the Club. 

    • Advancing the profile of the game by effective promotion and recruitment which provides observable results.

    • Increasing the participation of the sport by engagement/representation/advocacy with key stakeholders and peak bodies.

    • Enhancing communication with the general body of members.

Procedure

Any Delegate member of the Club may recommend a person for nomination as a life member. Nominations must be made on the attached nomination form (or similar template form), including the details of the nominating Member, and submitted to the Executive Committee where the nomination will be date received and registered. Nominations shall then be placed on the agenda for the next scheduled general committee meeting for consideration.

Details of any candidate recommended for life membership shall be distributed to the Committee for their information prior to the General Meeting.

Any new Life Member approved by the Committee in a general meeting in a particular year shall be announced at the End of Season Awards night and Annual General Meeting.

Entitlements:

As a CRFC Life Member they shall be entitled to: 

  • Invitation to attend the Annual General Meeting and other scheduled formal events (such as Presentation nights, Awards night and similar).

  • Personal copy of Annual Report.

  • Any other items, events, or documents that the General Committee and the Executive Committee may deem appropriate.
